History of the Crystal Palace Supporters Children’s Charity
The Club was formed in 1998 as a part of the Crystal Palace Fast Results and Information Service and became a Charity in 2001.
In 1997, a group of CPFRIS subscribers volunteered to take over the running of the Christmas Party for disabled children, previously organised by the Selhurst Park employees for 28 years.
CPFRIS members kindly gave donations towards the cost of the party and the amount donated gave us a surplus large enough to hire an Executive Box at Selhurst Park.
In 2010 we changed our name to Crystal Palace Supporters Children’s Charity. Disabled children and their carers from schools and societies in South London and the surrounding areas are invited to come to see matches in a secure environment.
We have continued to run the Christmas parties for around 180 disabled children and their carers.
There are no paid members of the Charity, everyone is a volunteer.
